Our curly pitcher is one of the “Editor’s Choices” "On the Road" 2010 Southeastern Art Celebration Vespermann-Cooper Gallery Atlanta, Georgia Exhibit runs from May 21st - July 31st Atlanta Intl Gift & Home Market July 16th – July 20th Atlanta, Georgia Americas Mart Bldg. # 2 – West Wing 1st Floor Booth 831 (To the Trade Only) "In the Studio" Gallery Hours: Monday – Saturday 10am until 4pm Hot Shop Hours: Wednesday – Friday 10am until 4pm Saturday - 9am until Noon (Schedule may vary—please call ahead) "Paperweight Classes" Friday, July 23 5pm – 9pm This class is designed for those who really just want see what molten glass is all about. Feel the heat, gather from the furnace, sculpt the glass into you own design. It is ultimately about the experience, some experimentation and a couple nice paperweights to take home or to the office to show your friends. Class size at the largest will be five students so everyone has adequate time at the bench working. There will be material provided before the class for you to review and become familiar with concerning safety and basic glassblowing vocabulary. Please join us for some in-depth discovery. Cost - $135. 3-5 students; reservations required; 50% non-refundable deposit. "Christmas in July" July 24th 8 am until 3 pm Winter just ended but already we are anticipating the hot Alabama summer that is on its way! But we’re not going to wilt because we are taking our minds to December and the fun that we have here in the studio at that time of year. "Christmas In July" features glass-blowing demonstrations, refreshments and a chance to blow your own ornament! Avoid the crowds that we have in the fall for these events and look around our gallery for a chance to get started on your Christmas shopping. We’ll be offering one-day discounts on some items. No reservations required ----- just dress in something cool (well, after all, it is July) and bring your family and friends for a fun day at Orbix!! Studio Tours/Group Events Studio Tours -- Looking for a unique event for your club or a group of friends? Come watch one of our glass artists give a private glassblowing demonstration. They will answer all your questions about the process (cameras are encouraged!) and you can view the end result of their hard work in our gallery. Cost is $160 for an hour. Maximum group is 30 people. 50% non-refundable deposit required. Available on Thursday mornings only. Private Blow Your Own Ornament Event -- This past fall we began scheduling private Blow Your Own Ornament events and it was a HUGE success!! This is ideal for families, church groups or companies who want to have a day together sharing a creative experience.! Each person gets to select their own colors and then blow into the pipe to form an ornament that they’ll treasure!! Cost - $35/ornament; Minimum of ten ornaments must be blown; $80 non-refundable deposit required Give us a call to schedule either event, and we’ll also put you in touch with people who can assist you with accommodations and/or dining.
